"Returning to my hometown of Parit Buntar always brings back memories—but this time, I decided to finally explore one of the many viral eateries I’ve never gotten around to visiting. For dinner, we stopped by Ruma Konsi, a cozy and unique restaurant located along Jalan Damai, just down the road to Bank Islam, directly opposite Hong Leong Bank.

We came as a party of three and enjoyed a simple yet satisfying meal: Chicken Chop, Kuey Teow Tomyam, and Chinese Fried Rice. Ruma Konsi serves a great mix of Thai cuisine and Western dishes, with options like spaghetti, burgers, and more, making it a versatile spot for various taste buds. The food was flavorful, and the portion sizes were generous—definitely worth checking out for casual family meals or outings with friends.

One thing that really stood out was the parking space. Although the restaurant sits on what looks like a converted residential lot, there’s a huge open area at the back that has been transformed into a spacious parking zone—a rare find in town! My mom even shared a nostalgic story: back in the 1970s, my grandfather was offered a plot here for just RM7,000. Thinking about how much it’s probably worth now is mind-blowing!

The setting was chill and welcoming, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the meal. Whether you’re local or just passing through, Ruma Konsi is definitely one of those places that combines good food with a bit of hometown nostalgia."

"We ordered a few menu.

Grilled Chicken Chop with Blackpepper Sauce,
Chinese Fried Rice
Spicy Creamy Pasta
Soy Sauce Chicken Popcorn

Here our rating:

Grilled Chicken Chop with Blackpepper Sauce 6/10
Overall was good, portion just nice with baked potatoes, coleslaw, salad, & gravy. Tapi gravy dia agak sedikit pahit. Pahit yg datang dari ground blackpepper.

Chinese Fried Rice 10/10
I ordered this cuz ade baca feedback dari customer cakap the taste similar to Fatty Crab restaurant. The first bite, omggg rich & flavourful with sesame oil, white pepper, peeled prawns, and serious sumpah SEDAPPP! Wangi, sedap and aromatic sangat! Will repeat order the same menu.

Spicy Creamy Pasta 7/10
Very thick and creamy sauce. Great job. We love it. Overall memang sedap!

Soy Garlic Sauce Chicken Popcorn 5/10
A bit disappointed sebab this one not like other Soy Garlic Sauce chicken popcorn at Korean restaurant. Ayam memang sedap digoreng dengan baik & rangup. We disliked the gravy coated with fried chicken. The gravy merely kicap pekat mix with cili api tumbuk and salut dengan ayam goreng. The owner should go and taste soy sauce garlic fried chicken by Seoul Garden. Sedap gila Ayam soy Garlic sauce kat Seoul Garden!

Staff:
Friendly and fast & swift service.

Waiting time:
10mins duduk and terus dapat makanan.

Parking:
A lot of free parking space kat belakang restaurant ni. Senang hati. Takyah risau nak park kereta tepi jalan. Drive here, terus masuk park kereta kat space belakang okay!"
