"Yia Coffee Company is the best café in Kuching. The coffee, especially the espresso, is of an astonishingly high quality that rivals Italian coffee culture, the absolute benchmark for me.

Located right in the heart of Chinatown, it feels like sitting in a green oasis of peace and relaxation. The owner and his team are extremely knowledgeable about coffee and are extremely friendly and approachable – customer satisfaction is clearly their top priority. A trip to Kuching is worth it for this espresso and a visit to this café alone!"

"A cosy, slightly hidden coffee haunt.

I have to say this place has the most Liberica blends I’ve found anywhere. I’m not a fan myself — it’s slightly bitter. Sarawak has a few Liberica plantations, hence the preference to source locally, which I thought was admirable.

You can ask for a specific blend when you order, so I went for the Sarawak Espresso blend, which uses 5 (!) bean types. It’s strong, with that familiar Liberica bitterness. Some people will love it. Just not me.

Unpretentious space, laid-back people, laid-back vibes. Spend an hour here doomscrolling next time you’re in Kuching."

"Their coffee is incredibly rich and aromatic. The environment and ambience are lovely, making it a great place to relax. The boss is also very friendly and shared many great food spots to explore."

"What a pleasant surprise to stumble upon Sarawak coffee here. Wanted to try the espresso, avocado milk shake but somehow their avocado is not available. So I've tried the espresso banana milk shake instead, not too bad as I was really hoping to try the avocado version.

A few nice seating area with lots of plants. It's lovely!"
